Description
A steel boot/shoe buttonhook 5" long advertising the 'Public Benefit Boot Company'. These words are stamped on both sides along with a logo of a man shaped as a boot driving a horse & cart. Made in Saxony (Germany) appears on one side. The Public Benefit Boot Company was started in Hull, England in 1875 when William Franklin opened his first shop. Within thirty years there were over 200 shops nationwide. The condition is generally very good with overall light rustiness and a couple of darker spots.
