    Description

I handsewed this Huswife (Housewife) sewing kit and it is in like new condition.
There are pockets on either side to stash threads, needles, buttons.  Wraps up to tie shut.  It is cotton material and cotton tape binding.
    Included are:
10 REAL hawthorn pins plucked by yours truly from a bush in CT.  Not easy to find these!!  They work perfectly for loosely woven materials to pin shut a shawl, neckscarf or pinner apron.   Hawthorn needles are documented to have been used in colonial times as an alternative to the more expensive metal wire pins.
also included is a small wooden pin case with cover that fits snuggly so you can keep sewing needles or metal straight pins in it.
