ideal for occasional use and perfect for cabinet displayPink Adam 11" Oval Serving Platter
Authentic Depression Glass
from Jeannette
not quite pristine but
displays
beautifully
Offered here today for your enjoyment and consideration is this pink depression glass serving platter from the Adam glassware line by Jeannette Glass Co. of Jeannette, Pennsylvania. Produced between the years of 1932 and 1934 our platter measures some 11.625" long x 7.625" wide. Height at the upturned
corners
of the rim is about 1.5". This pattern is, of course, now retired.
Condition here is good overall but something still a bit less than pristine. We noted a series of small nicks or chips about the platter's inner rim, likely the result of stacked storage of dishware in cupboard over many years. These are small insults and some may not be noticed on visual inspection without looking closely, but all will be detected on fingertip examination. Otherwise our platter is damage free. It's also free from any stain, discoloration, or hard water deposits. The piece exhibits strong, uniform pink coloration and has good pattern detail and definition. Surface wear is minimal though there is an annealing mark (some call them straw marks) running nearly the full width of the platter near its center. This small blemish does not represent damage, but rather is a mold imperfection incurred at the factory. So, ours is not the most perfect specimen of pink Adam you'll ever see, but it displays well in cabinet and can
easily
be put to occasional service at the dinner table if desired. It's a piece we think just might please a great many collectors.

We want to make your experience with Simpler Times as easy and satisfying as possible, so please take a moment to read “the fine print” listed below.
We strive to accurately photograph and honestly describe all of our offerings, mentioning both positive and any negative aspects of our merchandise. But, being only human, we may not always provide all of the information our buyers desire. Please feel free to e-mail us with any questions concerning our merchandise or terms. We'll do our best to give you a speedy reply, but because we may not see your e-mail until late in the day please don't wait until the last minute to contact us. Your questions should be sent at least 24 hours before a listing ends to ensure a timely reply.
Because most, if not all of the goods we offer are vintage, antique, and have likely been used you should expect them to exhibit the typical and expected signs of age and prior use. We’ll do our best to describe condition and make mention of any significant or noticeable wear, but we ask that you have realistic expectations of these items and not expect them to be “like new” or pristine unless specifically described as such when listed.
We generally e-mail an invoice detailing total charges including any applicable postage within 24 hours after listing end. If you prefer to use eBay checkout and pay immediately that's fine too. Additional e-mail will be sent to acknowledge receipt of payment and to notify buyers once items have been shipped. We want you to always know the status of your order.
Transactions listed with free or fixed price shipping will normally be shipped by our choice of Priority Mail or Parcel Select service depending upon destination and weight. You may always specify your choice of carrier with the understanding that we may require additional payment for costlier express services. Please be aware that items requiring a box larger than one cubic foot will incur dimensional rates when shipped and can be significantly more costly than smaller sized shipments.
Your shipment is at our risk until physically delivered to you. At our option we may choose to insure or not to insure a shipment based on value and durability of the item in question. Refunds will
not
be made nor will returns be accepted for insured items damaged in transit. In such case a claim must be filed with the carrier. We will gladly provide any info or other help needed in that area should the need arise.
Payment is expected within seven days of purchase. We will not ship any item in advance of payment. Once payment is received your item will normally be shipped within one business day.
Saturday, Sunday, and Postal holidays are not business days.
Transactions paid on Fridays will normally ship on the following Monday.
We generally consider all sales to be final, but we will gladly accept returns if notified within 30 calendar days that an item is substantially not as described. Refunds will be issued once the item in question is back in our possession in “as sold” condition. Postage both ways will be at the buyer's expense.
We believe in eBay's feedback system. Positive feedback will be posted on your behalf once payment is received. We hope you'll do likewise once you receive your item and are satisfied.
A special word to international buyers
Because shipping rates can vary widely from one country to another, we suggest that you contact us with your shipping information in advance of bidding or buying so we may provide you with an estimate of postal costs. Also, please understand that international shipments may require many days or even weeks before arrival. It is also our policy to truthfully and accurately complete any required customs forms. Any import duties or taxes will be the responsibility of the buyer.
