And Many, Many More Great Titles...
This hand colored glass slide is an ORIGINAL and it is NOT a reproduction. It was created to be projected onto the movie theatre screen before the film was released to promote the "coming attraction". Some people in the movie collectible world have said, that, glass slides are much rarer than the paper poster memorabilia from the same film and are very rare pieces of film history.
    Format:
    Glass Slide: 3 1/4" x 4"
    Plot Summary:
Merle Kramer works as a stenographer for a psychiatrist. She is casually dating Karl Benson, a private eye and former cop. Merle mentions in passing that one of her boss's patients is an author with recurring dreams of murdering his wife, and she includes the fact that the wife owns valuable jewels. When the wife is found murdered in a manner identical to that of her husband's dream, the husband is naturally the prime suspect. But as the investigation of the police and insurance investigator Joe Cooper proceeds, it turns out that several people in the case, including Merle, are not what they seem.
    Trivia
    :
Star Dorothy Lamour, in her autobiography, described working with George Reeves in the role of the insurance investigator, despite the fact that this role was played by Sterling Hayden.
According to a Hollywood Reporter news item, Paul Kelly was initially considered for a lead role in this film.
It was also known as The Man Who Stole a Dream and The Betrayal. .
Audiences and critics found the plot too confusing, and the film was not popular on its release. Lisa Mateas of Turner Classic Movies said that "contemporary audiences ... will find that Manhandled does not disappoint".

Dorothy Lamour was born in Louisiana in 1914. She was Miss New Orleans at 16, and she became the vocalist in the Herbie Kaye band, and married the bandleader. She was spotted by Paramount Pictures, and after a few uncredited appearances, she starred in The Jungle Princess, where she wore a floral print wrap-around sarong, and she was a sensation. She made five more "sarong pictures" and she also starred in the "Road" movies opposite Bob Hope and Bing Crosby (sadly in the last of these she was dubbed too old, and she was cast aside for a younger sexy Joan Collins). She also made made other movies, but she will always be remembered as the sexy sarong girl! She passed away in 1996 at the age of 81.
