WHATS GOT CLASS MADE OF BRASS?
The answer is our new debut colonial offering of a new reproduction Brass Neck Gorget for Military Officers dress. Please refer to my very clear photos to study details, and relative size in my hand.
The very thick solid solid brass metal Gorget is intended to be worn hung via a black ribbon from the upper middle neck to protect throat from injury during battle, at Dress appointments, it may be worn dropped position and relaxed in signal a command important Officer is in the room.
It has a beaded all around edge rim, curved like a half moon, and has very shiny polished patina. This is a NEW never used item. There are twin holes for you to thread your own ribbon or cord through so you can wear it over your ruffled shirt. The deep curve is slightly humped; the Gorget is not totally flat.
It is no means a flimsy piece, you cannot bend it with your hands, it is heavy and weights 5 ounces by itself!  I would call it a very quality and favorable long lasting investment into your ensemble. It measures about 5" across and hangs 5" deep. The rear surface is plain with no beading,
